A letter from somewhere else, with the tea to match.

The Tea Club is a snail mail club. Once a month I write to you from a different corner of the tea world, seal it with wax, and post it with three teas from that place.

  1. 01Pick your months

One, three, six or twelve. You pay once, up front, and there's nothing to cancel later.

  2. 02Watch the post

Your letter leaves on the 1st and reaches you by the 10th. Where it's from stays sealed until you open it.

  3. 03Put the kettle on

Read the letter, brew the three teas, and spend a day somewhere you've never been.

It begins the way the best post does. Something arrives with your name on it, in handwriting, and you don't quite know what's inside.

01

The parcel at the door

It comes on an ordinary day. Plain kraft paper, your name on the front, a wax seal holding it shut. You carry it in, put the kettle on out of habit, and sit down to open it properly.

Inside, everything is laid out in the order it's meant to be found.

Begin with the letter

On top, a letter from Aachman. A few hundred words written from inside a single day, somewhere in the world. Where you wake up. What the light is doing. What's being cooked down the street.

“You wake before the house does. Somewhere below, a shutter is pushed open, and the street begins to smell of bread. Put the kettle on. The first tea is for this hour.”Aachman

Three teas, one day

Beneath the letter, three teas, left to right. One for the morning, one for noon, one for after supper. One you'll recognise, one that stretches you, and one that feels like coming home. The last is always caffeine free.

You don't have to drink them in one day. But try it once. It changes how the day feels.

  1. MorningHow the day begins there
  2. NoonIts slow middle
  3. SupperHow it ends

For the wall

At the bottom, under a fold, a print. An original engraving of the place, drawn in the same hand as our tins. Most people frame it. Over a year, the wall becomes a map of everywhere you've been without leaving home.

For after supper

And last, face down, a small card marked for after supper. A poem chosen for the place. Read it with the final cup, when the house is quiet. That's how the day ends.

Then it's over, and a month later, another letter finds you from somewhere new.

In every letter

Five things, in the order you'll find them.

The letter

A few hundred words from inside one day, somewhere in the world. Written by me, signed by hand.

Three teas

Morning, noon and supper, about 20 cups of each. The last one is always caffeine free.

Tasting notes

How to brew each one, and what to look for in the cup.

The print

An engraving of the place, drawn in the same hand as our tins. Made for the wall.

The poem

A small card marked for after supper. Read it with the last cup.

A small confession. When I priced the Club, I added up the three teas at what they'd cost you in the Tea Room. Then I stopped there.

So the letter, the print and the poem? Think of those as me writing back.

Questions, answered

Where will my letters come from?

From all over the tea world, a different place every month and never the same one twice. I don't say where in advance. Half the fun is opening it.

How much tea is in each letter?

Three teas, about 20 cups of each. Enough to drink the day the letter describes, and plenty more after.

Can I leave things out?

Yes. Tell me if you'd rather skip smoky teas, milk-style teas or caffeine, and I'll swap in something you'll enjoy.

When does it arrive?

Join by the 20th and your first letter comes the following month. Letters leave on the 1st and arrive by the 10th.

What happens when my months are up?

Nothing, unless you want it to. There's no autopay. I'll write and ask if you'd like to keep going.

Can I send it as a gift?

Every plan can be a gift. Tick the box when you join and we address the letters to them instead.
